This study done on Kovid-19 patients has been published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. Study says Covid patients with varying severity of disease and fibrotic lung damage, also known as interstitial lung disease, need more follow-up care after hospital discharge Is.
What is interstitial lung disease
Interstitial lung disease includes a variety of diseases commonly known as lung lesions. There is also idiopathic lung fibrosis. Due to these wounds, patients feel difficulty in breathing and oxygen is taken from the bloodstream. The damage to the lungs caused by idiopathic lung fibrosis is irreversible and gets worse over time.
Margaret Turner, Warwick Center for Fibrosing Lung Disease and Advanced Research Fellow (Ryan Foundation) at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, and corresponding author Iain Stewart, say: Fibrotic patterning has been found in up to 11 percent of patients after recovery from the disease. Along with this, problems like shortness of breath and shortness of breath have been seen in patients for a long time.
